There's tons of weapons, armor, boots, capes, and accessories to find.there was always something to do in this game. Some people would go online to farm ability/sub weapon experience to max them out, it just took too long.

The only problem is that it takes a really, really, long time to max out the abilities of certain characters. The more you used a characters abilities, the stronger they'd become. Getsu Fuma is also very strong in his own right with great standard attacks and tools. Julius and Shanoa being the only ones who can take advantage of the magnes points in some stages. Then you have all the whippers who excel at.well whipping, martial arts, and sub weapons. Charlotte in particular being a great character in multiplayer because she could heal herself and her allies. Shanoa, Charlotte, and Yoko all magic users with fun spells.

You could also find gear from their respective games, and even share it with other characters if applicable.Īlucard has most of his abilities from Symphony of the Night, Soma is similar to Alucard but he is extremely versatile with his ability to command over demons. There are other tricks as well, like dive kicking precisely on the corner of something to boost your momentum and more. Extremely useful to learn for boss fights.Īnother trick is properly using Yorick skulls with Soma to open up shortcuts for the player on some stages, or his allies. Speaking of tricks, an important one was the back dash canceling method to increase your DPS. There were short cuts, tricks or glitches to take advantage of, and then you had great Castlevania music to back up the whole adventure. Going through the giant stages, sometimes with other players, never really got boring or stale to me. Yes it was grindy, and yes it had heavy amounts of RNG, but it was so good. I don't know how many hours I've sunk into the game on both platforms, I'm sure it's over hundreds and hundreds of hours in total.įor me, this game was a good balance between fun, difficulty, and progression. I'd be more than happy to buy this again if given the chance. I bought this game on the Xbox 360 and again on the PS3.
